A seminar on Training of Trainers, Competency-based training (CBT).

Daffodil Polytechnic Institute, a leading technical institute in Bangladesh, recently took a significant step towards enhancing the quality of its training by hosting a seminar on Competency-Based Training (CBT). Led by Mr. K M Hasan Ripon, the Executive Director of Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI), the seminar focused on equipping faculty members with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to deliver world-class CBT programs.

The session explored a variety of key topics, delving into effective task and contingency management within the specific environment of technical education. Additionally, Mr. Ripon emphasized the importance of presentation skills, ensuring that faculty members can not only impart knowledge but also do so in a clear, engaging, and impactful manner.

By completing this program, Daffodil Polytechnic Institute’s faculty is now equipped with the tools to:

– Apply effective communication: Facilitate a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, participating in discussions, and actively engaging with the material.
– Utilize critical thinking: Encourage students to go beyond rote memorization and develop their analytical skills, enabling them to solve problems and think creatively.
– Navigate complex challenges: Foster a collaborative spirit among students and prepare them to tackle real-world situations with competence and confidence.

Ultimately, the implementation of CBT at Daffodil Polytechnic Institute promises to benefit not only the faculty but also the students. By focusing on the specific skills and knowledge required for success in the workplace, the institute is preparing its graduates to hit the ground running and make a difference in the technical industry.

This initiative sets a commendable example for other technical institutions in Bangladesh. By adopting competency-based training and investing in faculty development, Daffodil Polytechnic Institute is paving the way for a future where technical education is both relevant and impactful, shaping skilled professionals who are ready to contribute to the nation’s economic and technological advancement.
